New UK RnB girl group FLO has been the hot topic lately and have just been on a trip to New York City to do press for their new EP. With many already becoming obsessed with the talented trio, you too should join in the fun.
Who is FLO?
FLO are an RnB girl group from the UK. The group is comprised of three members, Jorja Douglas, Renée Downer and Stella Quaresma. Moreover, the group are currently signed to Island Records and is relatively new to the music scene with just one EP out.
Their debut single Cardboard Box is a smashing hit. Produced by the iconic MNEK (who has produced music for Dua Lipa and Little Mix among others). Cardboard Box channels the same energy as Beyoncé’s Irreplaceable. Essentially it’s about telling an ex to pack their stuff and get going! We can never have too many empowering break-up songs.
What’s more, with Little Mix’s split, a massive gap has been left for a new UK girl group to fill. It has been what feels like an eternity since we have had an RnB girl group therefore FLO’s presence is very much welcomed. On top of that, they have incredible talent. From their stunning harmonies to Jorja’s whistle notes, their stardom is undeniable.
RnB Needs a Girl Group Again
When we think of RnB girl groups our minds probably travel back to the 90s. For example, the likes of Destiny’s Child, 702, TLC and Jade. Beyond the 90s it’s harder to pick out popular RnB girl groups. Evidently then this is a perfect time for one to emerge. We need it.
