If there’s one thing Netflix does well besides a true-crime drama it’s a romcom, and the latest Hello, Goodbye And Everything In Between has a cast you need to meet.
If you were thinking, ‘hey, I’ve not seen a cute teenage love story for a while’, well fear not the streamer has just released Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between, which revolves around a high school love and subsequent break-up (not a spoiler).
What is Hello, Goodbye And Everything In Between about?
From the producers of the To All the Boys franchise, Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between follows the story of Clare and Aidan have made a pact to break up before college with no regrets and no broken hearts.
The couple decides to have one massive last goodbye date, but that might be the thing to offer them one last go at love.
The film opens with a staple rom-com meet-cute between Aidan and Claire and viewers are shown a montage of their whirlwind romance, ending with the two in their senior year, planning their ‘break-up date’.
Whilst the two stroll through memory lane, going back over their whole ten-month relationship, they begin to question whether breaking up is really the way to go.
Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between book to movie
Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between movie is actually an adaptation based on a 2015 young adult novel by Jennifer E Smith.
When it was published the book received loads of great reviews including the Sunday Express who called the book ‘a sweet story of summer love’. Closer said it was ‘packed with fun and romance, this uplifting You’ve Got Mail-style story is totally charming’.
And the New York Times called it ‘a gorgeous, heartwarming reminder of the power of fate’.
Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between Cast
Jordan Fisher plays the lead, Aidan in this Netflix Original. Fisher made his name on Disney Channel on shows such as Liv and Maddie. He was also in the Disney Channel film series Teen Beach Movie as ‘Seacat’.
Fisher is also known for his Broadway performances in both Hamilton, as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen playing the lead character.
Fisher’s co-star is Talia Ryder who made her breakout performance on Broadway as Hortensia in Matilda the Musical. She plays Claire, one half of the main couple in Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between. Ryder also starred in the 2021 revival of West Side Story, playing Tessie alongside Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler.
Claire’s mother, Nancy is portrayed by Jennifer Robertson, best known for her outstanding role as Jocelyn Schitt in the award-winning Schitt’s Creek. Robertson has also starred in shows such as Undercover Grandpa, Single All the Way and Netflix’s own Ginny & Georgia.
Nico Hiraga plays Scotty, who is the wild one in Claire’s friendship group, really taking ‘YOLO’ to the extreme. Hiraga shot to fame in the 2019 film Booksmart. He also went on to star in Netflix’s Moxie and will play the lead role on The Power, coming to Amazon Prime soon.
Other notable cast members are Ayo Edebiri (As of Yet), Sarah Grey (The Order) and Julia Benson (What an Idiot).

The film has been out for less than a week, so sites such as Rotten Tomatoes have not yet received a true representation of the film. Currently, the film has a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes, with one critic writing: ‘This is a sweet and simple story featuring a likeable group of actors, and if you’re in the mood for a wholesome take on the “One Last Crazy Night” theme, it’s ok.’
