Moon Knight has finally dropped on Disney+ and people are already taking to Twitter to say how much they love the new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series.

The highly-anticipated series – the next release from Marvel Studios – went live today, Wednesday March 30, on the streaming site with a new episode dropping every Wednesday – so, unfortunately, there is no chance of binge-watching it yet.

What is Moon Knight?

The series follows Steven Grant, played by Oscar Isaac, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life.

Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

The series is based on the Marvel comics, of the same name, which debuted in August 1975. In the comics, Grant is a rich playboy, but the show and actor took the character in a different direction and actually looked to Karl Pilkington for inspiration.

The Marvel series also stars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes.

What The Fans Think

The show has only been on Disney+ for a matter of hours and already fans are in love with the MCU series with many calling it a ‘masterpiece’ or ‘chaotic’ and ‘fun’ – along with complimenting Isaac’s acting. And many even commented on how different the ‘direction’ was for Marvel to go in.

Some fans couldn’t even get other the aesthetics of the show’s credits.

And one person decided a simple fish was their favourite character – besides Grant, of course.

The first episode of Moon Knight is available to stream on Disney+ now.
