After eight weeks of watching the Love Island villa, the show has come to an end for this summer. In that time there has been plenty of romance, fun, and, of course, some drama. The cast reunited at the weekend, with the show’s host Laura Whitmore, to discuss their time on the island. Some parts became very awkward as both new and old wounds were uncovered in the ITV special. Here are the top five awkward moments from the reunion.
5. “Licked her tit, or whatever”
One of this year’s most infamous lines of course had to make its way into the reunion show. During their time in the villa, contestant Andrew Le Page told his partner Tasha Ghouri that he “licked her tit, or whatever” in reference to what he had gotten up to with Coco Lodge during Casa Amour. When this clip made its way into the Love Island reunion show, it was sure to get a bit awkward between the fourth-place pair. The couple appeared to laugh it off together, but moved swiftly on.
4. Dami, not Deji
During Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack’s time in the villa, we watched some ups and downs as they both returned from Casa Amour in brand new couples. They reunited quickly after and recoupled together. However, it seemed that Indiyah could not forget her Casa Amour partner Deji Adeniyi. Several times in the final weeks of the show, Inidyah accidentally called Dami by Deji’s name. This became a source of friction for the couple.
In last night’s reunion show, Whitmore of course brought this up, playing a montage of clips of Indiyah referring to Dami as Deji. She jokingly asked Indiyah “Have you said Deji since?” to which Dami replied “Absolutely not, we wouldn’t be here if she had”. The pair looked a little uncomfortable, as did everybody watching at home.

3. Luca’s Lookalike
As Whitmore interviewed second-place couple Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, she asked whether Luca had met Gemma’s famous father Michael Owen. Luca admitted that he was yet to meet him but they had spoken over Facetime, to which Whitmore responded “Was it like looking at yourself in the future?”
Whitmore was referring to a photo of Michael Owen taken over 15 years ago that has been circulating social media. Fans of the show have drawn comparison to how similar Gemma’s dad and Luca look. The pair giggled awkwardly and Gemma said, “It actually makes me feel a bit sick thinking about it”.
2. “We’re being too chill really.”
Couple Lacey Edwards and Deji Adeniyi left the villa together after just a few days of getting to know each other. As the reunion co-host, Darren Harriott , interviewed the pair, it appeared to get pretty awkward.
As Harriott asked the pair if they were still going strong since the villa, Deji joked at how Lacey was annoyed they hadn’t been on a first date yet. Lacey responded to the jokes with “You make time for people if you want to, right?”.
The audience gasped and Harriott looked around awkwardly, stating “There’s a lot of shade being thrown!” Lacey continued, discussing how different being back in reality was to inside the villa and how they are both very chilled people who are being “too chilled really”. Deji laughed awkwardly, pulling his sunglasses down and trying to avoid the first date conversation.
1. Summer and Coco
The biggest and most talked about drama of the reunion is the argument between Summer Botwe and Coco Lodge. Darren Harriott began by asking Casa Amour contestant Billy Brown about who had been getting together since exiting the show. Summer jumped in, saying “I know someone who wishes they would have gotten with someone but we move.” Coco responded, “It’s just banter, if you can’t handle a big personality don’t go on reality TV”, to which Summer replied “Friends don’t say certain things hun but alright.”
The argument escalated as the audience gasped and Harriott had to stop the pair from arguing and quickly move on. Summer was referring to Coco speaking on the Saving Grace podcast after her exit from the villa. During this, Coco spoke about how she could have gotten with fellow contestant Josh Le Grove after they left they villa and stayed in a hotel together. Prior to his villa exit, Josh and Summer were getting to know each other and it appeared as though they had a spark. This has clearly led Summer and Coco to fall out, and the drama on the reunion show left viewers shocked.
