Peter Andre has taken to social media to hit back as the comments Rebekah Vardy made about him resurfaced in the Wagatha Christie High Court case.
It was revealed in court on Tuesday, May 10, Vardy made comments about the ‘size of his [Andre’s] manhood’ which saw her compare it to a ‘chipolata’ and Andre said there would be an ‘outrage’ if a man said something similar to the press about a woman.
Comments Resurface
Vardy is in court suing Coleen Rooney after the wife of footballer Wayne Rooney took to social media in 2019 to accuse the fellow WAG (Wife and Girlfriend) of leaking stories about her to the press.
During the case while trying to explore whether Vardy respects people’s privacy, Rooney’s barrister David Sherborne asked Vardy about an interview she gave to the News of the World in 2004 about an alleged sexual encounter with the Australian singer.
Sherborne read out the headline which was: ‘Peter’s hung like a small chipolata, shaved, slobbery, lasts five minutes.’
However, the 40-year-old went on to say she ‘deeply regrets’ the interview she gave to the folded publication and when asked if she was whether she was ‘respectful’ of Andre’s ‘right not to share this information’ about their sexual encounter with the media she claimed she did so in 2004 at the insistence of her ex-husband.
According to Sky News she told the court: ‘I was forced into a situation by my ex-husband to do this. It is something that I deeply regret… It is not nice to read and I understand why this is being used and to me this is mudslinging and I was also threatened with mudslinging by Mrs Rooney’s team.’
Peter Calls Out The Double Standard
In response to this the 49-year-old ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer has taken to social media to hit back at the comments and call out the double standard of him being talked about.
During the video Andre spoke about how it felt to be the ‘butt of all jokes’ for 15 years and called out how he thinks it would be if the tables were turned and ‘if a man had said this about her anatomy’ there would be ‘outrage’.
He said: ‘Fifteen years this has been going on and I kept quiet and I didn’t say anything and I let everyone have their laugh and I let everyone say what they wanted to say,” the singer said.
‘Now she has gone to court and admitted that the story was made up and she did that because her ex-husband forced her to do it. Fair enough.
‘But, put that all aside and just think how that feels. If a man had said this about her anatomy and made up something -you can use your imagination, saying something very unflattering – there would be outrage. There would be absolute outrage.’
