Summer is finally here, which means that you may be looking at setting off for a holiday in the sun. Whether you’re an experienced jet-setter or a novice traveller, there are always things you can pack to make your life easier.
Here are some of our best holiday hacks to help you tackle pesky sand, pack lighter, and make life as convenient as possible so you can maximise your time relaxing.
Towel Clips
These are a lifesaver when it comes to securing your sun beds by the pool or beach, and are easy to use- just clip your towel to the sun bed at the top with the clips. You don’t want to be chasing after flyaway towels, or constantly having to adjust your towel underneath you when sunbathing. You can get them from shops such as Poundland for £1 and can even get them in funky designs.
Shampoo Bars
If you have limited space in your suitcase or are only taking hand luggage (and are therefore limited to 100ml bottles of toiletries) pack yourself a shampoo bar. They lather up in water and can be used like normal shampoo, but are a solid item instead of a liquid. This also is an environmentally friendly option and mean that you are using less plastic.

Collapsible Beach Buckets
These are a great idea if you have children and find yourself carrying tons of beach toys with you every holiday. You can buy collapsible silicon beach buckets which fold down and are much easier to transport. They are also sturdier and less likely to crack than the usual plastic ones. You can purchase them on Amazon here.
Sunglasses Chain
If you (like me) end up either losing or breaking your sunglasses on every holiday you go on, then you should get yourself a sunglasses chain. They don’t have to be ugly, plenty of shops are selling necklace-like ones this summer season, which can slip onto your sunglasses easily. This stops you from having to put your sunglasses down (to then be sat on) or on the top of your head where they could be blown off.
Baby Powder
This might seem random, but baby powder is the perfect beach hack. If you don’t like the feeling of sand on your legs and are tired of running from the sea to your towel hoping that sand won’t stick, then pack yourself some baby powder. Rub it on your legs and it will take the sand right off!
