A writer for Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has called seeing his work come alive on screen “one of the most surreal moments” of his life.
Of course, it was J.R.R. Tolkien who created the universe and lore of Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth where the Hobbits, Elves and men dwell, but as he passed away in 1973 others have been responsible for bringing his work to life on screen.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Rings of Power is an epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and takes viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

The latest episode takes the turn to explain to audiences how Mordor – where the Fellowship, then Frodo and Sam, were headed – came into being.
The victory Galadriel and the Southlanders had tried so hard for is cut short as the Mount Doom volcano erupts turning what was a beautiful grassland into the devastated lands of Mordor – any keen fan could tell that from the map.
Rings of Power writer calls seeing work ‘surreal moment’
The whole episode was a spectacular show with grand scenes of battles and it not only excited the fans, but it was apparently a “surreal moment” for one of the writers too.
Nicholas Adams, one of the writers for Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, took to Twitter to say how amazing it is to see his work come alive on screen, and called it “one of the most surreal moments” of his life.
He shared a screenshot of his name in the credits and the caption: ‘Before this TV show was a worldwide phenomenon, it was just words on a page, and some of those words came from my brain!
‘Seeing my name credited on such an epic show is without a doubt one of the most surreal moments of my life. Hope you all enjoy episode 6 of the Rings of Power!
