The health and beauty industry is full of single-use plastic. From shampoo bottles, deodorants and razors – it’s everywhere. Luckily, the following eco-friendly options are out there, too, so you can make the switch to be more eco-friendly.
Estrid
Estrid is a company I’ve subscribed to for over a year and I absolutely love it. It’s a subscription razor service where you purchase a one-off durable handle and some blades. Estrid then sends you four refillable razor blade heads when you need them. The blades and handles are top quality and come in gorgeous colours (mine is space). Choose a subscription of either every two months, three months or four months and pause, skip, change, or cancel at any time.
The Starter kit is only £7.95 and gives you a handle, two refillable blades and a holder for your bath/shower. After that, it’s £9.95 every time you’re sent new blades. With free, eco-friendly shipping, there really is no reason to try it.
Refill Shampoo Pouches
Quite a few big haircare brands now offer eco-friendly refill shampoo bottles and aluminium bottles to go alongside them. Although these are often more expensive than standard bottles, the pouches use 60% less plastic. Plus the aluminium bottles (pre-filled with shampoo) can be reused over and over again.

A Water Bottle
It sounds simple but it amazes me how many people still buy single-use water bottles. You can get reusable bottles anywhere, and they’re normally cheap as chips! It’s one of the simplest changes, yet really eco-friendly. I always carry my bottle around with me so I never have to buy single-use. Plus, you can grab one in your favourite colour, or even personalised.
