Stationery Essentials That Every University Student Needs

Add as preferred source on Google

You don’t need tons of stationery when you go to university, as most of the work you do will be online. However, there are still some essentials that I’ve found super helpful in aiding my studies. Here are some of my must-haves!

A Rocketbook

You’ll never need to buy another notebook again once you get a Rocketbook. These things are pure magic. You write in them with an erasable pen and scan the QR code on each page. This then uploads your written notes on to an online app, meaning that you can then rub away your physical notes and start afresh. Genius! This will be your BFF when it comes to note-taking in lectures.

Simple, Black Pens

Gone are the days when you had every colour pen under the sun, all with fancy patterns and gems on. You’ll just want to grab the first thing that comes to you and that usually comes in the form of a trusty BIC pen. You can’t go wrong with a simple, black ink pen, can you? They are so affordable and come in a multi-pack because, let’s face it, you’re going to lose several of them as soon as you’ve opened the pack!

Transparent Sticky Notes

Transparent sticky notes are a one up from your usual Post-It! These are amazing for sticking on the top of your textbooks so that you can still see the information underneath. I so wish I’d found these sooner, because they truly make revision and note-taking so much easier!

Blu Tack

Blu Tack isn’t just useful for sticking notes on to your wall. Every university student likes to Blu Tack posters and polaroid pics in their room when they first move in but in the hustle and bustle of moving in day, it usually gets forgotten. This stuff is a must-have and is always needed!

A Clear Pencil Case

Not every university student has exams but those who study Science or Maths, for example, will need a clear pencil case. You won’t use it loads but it’s a must have for exam season. Buy one early to avoid the stress of having to go out and get one right before you sit your paper.

Paper Clips

Paper clips to, you know, get your life together. Students are far from organised so those bits of paper, that are actually really important, always get crumpled up most of the time. Paper clips help keep everything in order, making it easier to look back on your notes when that pesky exam comes around.

Highlighters

Highlighters are especially important for English students but everyone will benefit from having them nearby in their university rooms. Annotating books is all well and good but the key info can sometimes get lost. Highlighters can help categorise information into themes and make those notes actually mean something! Oh, and they look super pretty too!
