Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse has announced her decision to leave the popular show after seven years. While many fans saw this coming due to how successful her stints on shows such as The Greatest Dancer and Dancing On Ice have been, it was still news that made most teary-eyed. Let’s celebrate Oti’s fantastic career on the show by taking a look at her best five dances.

#5 – Oti Mabuse and Danny Mac Argentine Tango – 2016

This is arguably one of the best dances in Strictly history. The couple performed this dance with so much passion and sensuality, making it a beautiful watch. This pairing was a match made in Heaven. The way Oti worked her magic to make Danny into a somewhat professional himself was truly memorable.

#4 – Samba – 2016

This samba was iconic! Not only was it a whole lot of fun and immediately had us wishing that we were on holiday in the sun; it was also super powerful. It still amazes me how fast Oti’s legs can move in this dance. I would have totally fallen over on the first step. It’s safe to say that nobody can shimmy their way through the samba quite like Oti.

#3 – Oti Mabuse and Kelvin Fletcher – Commercial – 2019

This dance was so bright and colourful and was made even more energetic and joyous thanks to Oti’s amazing choreography. The use of props and storytelling in this dance is especially prominent, adding to and not taking away from the vibrant routine. There’s a reason these two went on to win the show.

#2 – Showdance – 2019

It takes skill to take a dance that is initially fast-paced and slow it right down, all while making this transition seem effortless. You can just tell that the duo are having the time of their lives here. Oh and that spin was EVERYTHING!

#1 – Oti Mabuse and Bill Bailey – Couple’s Choice – 2020

This dance has every component you could think of. Synchronisation – check. Original use of props – check. I especially love how Oti played to Bill’s strengths, incorporating comical elements into this routine. Can we also just appreciate that this was a WEEK FOUR dance? Like, seriously, how good is this for something so early in the competition?!
