Taylor Swift is loving Avril Lavigne’s new album and we’re all here for the women supporting women fan-girl vibe.

Yesterday, Wednesday March 2, 37-year-old Lavigne took to Instagram to share an adorable video of flowers she received in celebration of her seventh studio album Love Sux – the gift was from none other than the international icon herself, Taylor Swift.
The video – which, of course, has ‘Style’ by Taylor Swift playing in the background – showed a bouquet of pink, peach and white flowers was accompanied with a small note from the 32-year-old ‘Love Story’ singer where she stated she was a ‘forever fan’ of Lavigne’s.
It read: “Avril, Been dancing around my kitchen to your fabulous new album!!” Swift penned. “It’s AMAZING, like you. Your forever fan, Taylor.”
Swift sending the flowers seems to be more than the star expressing her love for the noughties-feel pop-punk album – it’s also an example of women supporting women in their industry.
In the past Swift has spoken openly about her femminist views and she’s a force to be reckoned with within the music industry since her fight to own her own work again.
Her supporting Lavigne is exactly what women need to see, especially, ahead of International Women’s Day.
She’s showing women can work in that same industry without being in constant competition with each other and show support for each other.
For any Swift fan this support and love of Lavigne’s work won’t come as a shock – during her 1989 World Tour Swift invited the Canadian singer on stage to perform with her.

Plus, she’s not wrong to be completely fan-girling over the new album – it’s hard to argue there’s a single skip in all the 12 songs that feature on the record.
Released on February 25 Love Sux is produced by Travis Barker’s DTA Records and features appearances from Machine Gun Kelly and Blackbear, and writing from Lavigne’s boyfriend Mod Sun.
The whole thing instantly takes you back to Lavigne’s early albums, which rocked the noughties, with it’s Y2K pop-punk vibe – even the video for the lead single ‘Bite Me’ where she and Barker are running around causing havoc has a whole ‘Complicated’ feel, but more grown-up and fine-tuned.
