The MTV VMAs red carpet is one place where celebrities go all out, and nothing ever seems to be off the cards. The ceremony took place at the Prudential Centre in New Jersey and everybody was in attendance. From Taylor Swift, to Lizzo to Lil Nas X, the stars put together their best looks to attend the prestigious ceremony.

Take a look of some of the best and worst looks from the night.

Best dressed

Lil Nas X

The rapper is never one to go small, and this Harris Reed outfit he wore to the ceremony sure shows that he knows how to pull off a statement piece. The skirt compliments Nas’s body perfectly, and the feathers are a real wow moment. The minimal colour choice is a bold statement, but Lil Nas X rocks it as per usual.

We love.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina looks absolutely stunning in this floral Moschino gown. The singer is definitely taking us back to the 70s with this look, from the groovy floral pattern to her big and bouncy hair. To top it off, Sabrina wore smokey makeup, with blush and highlight.

We think Sabrina killed this look, and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to over the next year.

Taylor Swift

The singer-songwriter came out of hiding to make her fourth public appearance of 2022 at the VMAs, and she sure looked good doing it. Dressed in custom Oscar De La Renta, Taylor was giving MAJOR Reputation vibes, leaving fans wondering if it could be an Easter egg for her sixth studio album.

The dripping diamonds and jewels compliment the singer perfectly, and her glitter makeup looks stunning.

Dylan O’Brien

Dylan went for business casual at the VMAs, in New York based brand Bode. The actor wore a suit covered in a pattern which is probably on somebody’s carpet somewhere. Yet he pulled it off.

Dylan kept it cool by wearing shades and gold chains – which we can’t get enough of.

BLACKPINK

The girl group looked absolutely stunning at the VMAs, and each showed off their individual senses of style. Lisa wore a sleek Celine jumpsuit, Jisoo wore a stunning Dior dress, Jennie Kim wore a beautiful Chanel two piece, and Rosé wore a gorgeous Saint Laurent one piece.

The designers did an amazing job at bringing out the girls’ beauty and individuality. We think they looked breathtaking.

Worst Dressed

Lizzo

Queen Lizzo wore Jean-Paul Gaultier Couture to the ceremony. Although it is a gorgeous colour, it loses Lizzo.

The dress ends up making the singer looking like she is wrapped in a duvet cover.

Ava Max

The ‘Sweet But Psycho’ singer looked absolutely beautiful, however, her outfit was a miss. Ava Max wore a bright green Coperni dress, which washed out her skin tone and felt too casual for the event.

The shoes were also a miss for us, and didn’t compliment the outfit at all.

Anitta

Anitta turned up to the ceremony in a risqué Schiaparelli gown. The red dress was cut asymmetrical and featured webbing over her left chest area. The outfit was an interesting choice, but not one we found ourselves liking.

Anitta’s hair was also not our favourite, as it had been styled outward and partially gelled across the singers face.
