The Best Comfort Films To Binge

Add as preferred source on Google

With the uncertainty of the summer weather in the UK, we are expecting some rainy days amongst (hopefully) some nice ones.

On the days that you just want to stay in bed, order a takeaway, and relax watching films, here are some options for you! This can sometimes really help your stress levels reduce, as you relax and do nothing after a hard year of university work.

With sites such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, there is almost too much choice on what film you wish to watch next.

However, on a day when you only want comfort and entertainment, here is a list of some of my favourite films to watch on those cosy days.

Bridget Jones Boxset

The three Bridget Jones movies are filled with love and laughter. They follow the story of a young journalist who always just misses out on what she wants to achieve.

She faces many adversities but doesn’t let that stop her, as she finds herself in a humorous love triangle that continues to go wrong.

These films are the definition of British humour and are perfect to sit down and watch on those rainy days with some tasty snacks.

These films are uplifting and won’t disappoint. Starring Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, these three main characters are amazing actors who provide a huge amount of entertainment.

The Hunger Games Movies

The Hunger Games films are split into four parts. They are filled with action, gore, death, and love.

These are amazing films to get your teeth into and are packed with tense moments as well as beautiful ones.

These films will make you cry but will also get you rooting for the main characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.

These characters are played by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, as well as fellow castmates Liam Hemsworth and Robert Carlyle.

The actors bring to life their characters and make you believe that the life-or-death situations they face are real.

I would highly recommend watching all four back-to-back as the storyline is incredibly gripping.

Harry Potter

This is one of the most famous film series in the world.

I’m pretty sure everyone would have seen Harry Potter at some stage, but watching them all at once and seeing these characters grow from young children to teenagers will not disappoint!

Seeing all the battles and fights they have to go through, as well as meeting the loves of their lives, really does highlight how these films have it all.

The later instalments have much more action scenes in them, which makes them all the more entertaining to watch as these characters fight for good against evil.

However, this doesn’t mean that the earlier films with the younger characters aren’t as good.

They are truly heart-warming and are the definition of comfort films. On the days that you wish to get lost in the world of Hogwarts, watching these films will provide a relaxing yet enjoyable day.
