The UK staple The Great British Bake Off is coming back for season 13 and is, fittingly, set to launch on Channel 4 on September 13.
It was announced on the last day of summer, August 31, that the British favourite would be returning to our screens in just a few short weeks.
The Great British Bake Off Season 13
Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding will all be returning for the thirteenth season of the high-anticipated baking show.
The news was announced the show would be returning to Channel 4 on September 13, at 8pm, alongside a selfie of the judges with their comedic presenters in a post on social media with a witty bread-related pun.
Fans lost it on Twitter after the announcement with many saying they ‘need it’ and they’re ‘ready for it’ and one person commented it was ‘back just in time’ to ‘save their sanity’.
The Great British Bake Off
The Great British Bake Off is a baking competition where 12 amateur bakers enter the Bake Off tent for weeks of baking tasks to fight it out to be named the champion of the series.
Each week the bakers have themed tasks whether it be ‘bread week’, ‘cake week’, ‘caramel week’ or even ‘pie week’ the contestants are kept on their toes with a signature challenge they can prep for, a showstopper challenge on day two and the dreaded technical challenge which puts the bakers’ skills and knowledge to the test as they don’t know what they’re going to be asked to bake until the day of filming.
So Far the selfie and social media announcements are all fans have to go by as the bakers haven’t been announced and Channel 4 is yet to drop a trailer for the upcoming show.
