The Six Most Iconic Love Island Moments

Add as preferred source on Google

The sun is out, bikinis are on and that can only mean one thing, it’s time for Love Island. Get ready for a whole new group of guys and girls to flirt, argue and stir up drama as they search for ‘their type on paper’.

Before the eighth season kicks off on Monday, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at the most iconic moments Love Island has given us so far.

Amy and Curtis break up

In season 5, Curtis dumped Amy when she told him the iconic line: ‘I came back here to tell you I loved you.’ Ouch. These two were definitely on different pages after Casa Amour, and as if matters couldn’t get worse, Curtis then told Amy he would rather be out of bed early in the morning to make everyone a coffee rather than spoon her. Awkward.

Maura putting Tom in his place

This is another from season 5. Maura’s entrance to the villa as a bombshell is possibly the most memorable ever. In this episode Maura got a text saying she could spend the night in the hideaway with a boy of her choice so she chose Tom, who she had been starting to like. However, it all blew up when Maura overheard him talking to the boys about how ‘it’ll be interesting to see if she’s all mouth or not’.

This was an iconic moment for women everywhere. Just because you’re comfortable with talking about sex, doesn’t mean you owe it to anyone.

Hugo vs Toby

Season 7 of Love Island had its dramatic moments too, with one of the most memorable being Hugo throwing all the shade at Toby during a recoupling. Toby was a bit of a playboy and did hop from girl to girl.

Hugo decided to put a stop to it by recoupling with Chloe, and in the speech making it clear that she deserved better: ‘She doesn’t deserve to be treated the way she has been this past 24 hours.’

Georgia’s “I’m loyal”

This moment became a slogan for Primark t-shirts and memes alike. People even made compilations of the number of times season 4 islander Georgia said these words. The Twitter memes were gold.

Chris rapping to lighten the mood and Cash Hughes

Chris Hughes. That is the moment. From asking to rap to lighten the mood to naming his fake baby Cash Hughes, season 3 islander Chris provided us with so many funny and iconic moments. My favourite being during an argument with Olivia, telling her to sit down and her response being “I’m sat.”

Jon proposes to Hannah

If you cast your mind back to season 1, you might remember this shocking moment. Jon actually proposed to Hannah, in Love Island’s first (and last) marriage proposal. She said yes, and no one could quite believe it.
