Are you a TV fanatic? Do you spend most of your time wishing that the fictional worlds you see on screen were real? There are tons of TV sets and locations in the UK that you can actually go and visit! Why not imagine yourself as a character of your favourite show and visit some of them for yourself?

Highclere Castle: The Home of Downton Abbey

Highclere Castle is located in Hampshire and was the set of Downton Abbey itself. If you want to delve into the grand interiors of the Castle and walk through the large gardens, as if you were in the television series, you are able to do all of that and more! It’s a really beautiful place and would make for a beautiful day out whether you are a fan of the show or not.

Hampton Court Palace: Bridgerton

The popular Netflix show, Bridgerton, has many filming locations but perhaps the most recognisable is Hampton Court Palace. The gardens and palace were used often in scenes, being a super cool place to visit. If you fancy feeling like Daphne then why not take a stroll across the enormous grounds? What’s more, the palace was also the home of Henry VIII!

Emmerdale Village Tour

Emmerdale is one of the nation’s best loved soaps and, luckily for us, we are able to explore behind the scenes, picking from a choice of a village or studio tour, exploring either the interior or exterior sets. If you fancy exploring the original set for free then Esholt in Yorkshire is the perfect place to take a stroll around. You can even have a drink in The Woolpack.

Coronation Street Tour

I love the Corrie tour, located at MediaCityUK, Salford, as it allows you to walk around an actual, working set. This set is still in use to this day and has all of the latest additions such as the Funeral Directors, Co-Op and Costa. Your tour guide will also provide you with fun and interesting facts along the way!

Photo by Jacob Capener on The Chalet, Hertfordshire: Sex Education

Believe it or not, you can actually enjoy a holiday, renting out Otis and Jean’s chalet, in Hertfordshire. The house is in a stunning location, immediately recognisable as being used in the popular TV show, Sex Education. It’s located in a really peaceful location too, making for a relaxing break.

Port Isaac: Doc Martin

Port Isaac is a beautiful and picturesque fishing village in Cornwall and just so happens to be the location of the ITV show Doc Martin. It’s free to visit and makes for a wonderful day out, especially if you are looking for something to do in the summer.

Belvoir Castle: The Crown

Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire was used for the Netflix series, The Crown, acting as Windsor Castle. It has been used for all three seasons so far, so it clearly lives up to the hype. Why not live like a royal and head on down there yourself?

The Dark Hedges: Game of Thrones

The Dark Hedges are not only a memorable filming location from the hit series, Game of Thrones, but are also a stunning, natural beauty spot. The tunnel of trees makes for some great photos and also has some creepy stories surrounding it. You might even be lucky (or unlucky) enough to spot the ‘Grey Lady’ lurking about.
