The UK is never short of theme parks, which thankfully makes for many fun filled days out for us! I am lucky enough to live right next to a theme park and know how much fun for all the family they can be. If you want to go on an exciting day trip with all your friends and family, why not visit one of these parks?
Drayton Manor Resort
Drayton Manor Resort is my local theme park and makes for a wonderful day out. They’ve recently opened a brand new section to the park called ‘Vikings’ that has four new rides for us all to enjoy. Drayton Manor isn’t full of thrill rides but if you are looking for family friendly rides then this is the place for you. With the inclusion of Thomas Land, there’s sure to be something for people of all ages to enjoy.
Alton Towers Resort
Alton Towers is home to some of the best rollercoasters in the UK – think Rita, The Smiler and Wicker Man. This is definitely a park for those who love adventure. You’re bound to hear screams from almost every corner of the park (okay, except from Cbeebies Land) so if you like to keep things safe then this may not be the place for you.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is pretty unique in location, being situated right next to… you guessed it… the beach! With many classics including The Big One, it’s certainly a park that has a lot of love behind its gates. There are so many interesting rides to discover that are for all ages, with rides such as Icon being especially unique.
Chessington World of Adventures
The very fact that Chessington includes both a theme park and a zoo is enough in itself to make you want to go. My favourite ride just has to be the Croc Drop, which sees you drop directly into a crocodile’s mouth. I love how the rides are all animal themed at this park, making it very fitting with the zoo.
Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park prides itself on being the UK’s most thrilling park and for good reason. If you love to live life in the fast lane then you will love riding on Stealth which is actually – cool fact alert – the UK’s fastest rollercoaster, peaking at 80mph! Thrill seekers are in for a treat at this park with rides that you simply can’t get anywhere else! Looking for the world’s first ten-loop coaster? You’ll find it here.
Flamingo Land
Flamingo Land provides us with another theme park and zoo combo! Don’t be fooled by the vast amount of kids rides on the park as there are some real thrill rides to enjoy too. Mumbo Jumbo has to be the scariest ride at the park – I mean… a 112° vertical drop is scary right? Other thrill rides include Navigator and Flip Flop that all make for unforgettable experiences.
