The Ultimate Playlist For Boosting Your Self-Confidence

Add as preferred source on Google

I truly believe that music has the power to give you a much needed confidence boost. When you are doubting yourself, pressing play on your favourite tune can instant uplift your mood! Here are a few of my favourite feel-good songs to get you smiling.

Underdog – The Script

I could have easily chosen Hall of Fame or Superheroes as suggestions but these are already very popular songs from the Irish trio. Instead, Underdog is a song that is somewhat of an underdog itself. Although not many people have heard of it as it was never released as a single, it is a song that will make anyone who has felt forgotten or insignificant feel like they are finally being noticed. The Script have written this song with you in mind so it’s time to listen and realise that you are deserving of great things!

Beautiful – Anne Marie

Anne Marie knows better than anybody how self-confidence issues can be our worst enemy – she even wrote a book about it. Beautiful appreciates everyone for who they are, admiring all of our differences and most importantly reminds us that we shouldn’t change a single thing. We are all unique and should look in the mirror and smile rather than want to hide away.

Billy – Lauv

Billy focuses on a guy named, you guessed it, Billy. He grew from a poor background with some suggesting that he wouldn’t ‘amount to anything.’ However, he ‘channelled [their] energy’ and proved all of the haters wrong. Billy had the last laugh by proving that with a little bit of self belief nobody can bring you down and get in the way of your dreams. This is the perfect song for anybody who has had their confidence knocked by others, believing that they aren’t capable of achieving their goals.

Girl in the Mirror – Bebe Rexha

Imagine a world without social media, in which we wouldn’t be compelled to constantly compare our likes and body images to others. Girl in the Mirror encourages us to appreciate who we are with all our quirks and unique characteristics. We would feel a lot more free and happy within ourselves if we stopped pressurising ourselves to fit in or look like somebody we aren’t.

Me Time – Paloma Faith

Sometimes we all just need some time to ourselves to figure out who the heck we are. Everyone around you may think that they know what is best for you but in reality, nobody knows you better than yourself. Prioritise yourself and have that extra nap if it makes you feel better. You’ll be fine in the end, you just need to work on loving yourself first!

By Your Side – Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan

Music can be our best friend, getting us through the darkest of times. You may be feeling low right now but Tom Grennan ensures that he will always be there for you day and night, supporting you all of the way. This song gives you that much needed reassurance that you have somebody there fighting your corner even though you may be feeling alone right now. Plough on, you are worthy of the love!

Still Learning – Halsey

You probably didn’t expect to find Halsey pop up on this list as most of their music is well… of a more sombre tone. However, Still Learning is the perfect self-confidence song. It isn’t upbeat like some of the others mentioned, but it will allow you to reflect. Halsey is still on the road to loving themselves – they remind us that you don’t have to be the finished piece now, you are forever growing. We’re all human at the end of the day and its important to remember that nobody is perfect.

ME! – Taylor Swift

As a massive Taylor Swift fan I’d have to say that ME! is one of her more cringier tunes but nevertheless ME! has a very important key message behind it. Nobody does you like you do! There’s only one of you and nobody can ever take that away from you so shine like the star that you are!

Daisies – Katy Perry

Daisies is the perfect reminder that you’ve got this! No matter your dreams in life, you can get there. Katy Perry uses this song to tell fans to ignore those who don’t believe in them and prove them wrong. So what if you’re ‘one in seven billion?’ You could be the first to break that record or achieve that goal!

Cake – Lily Allen

If you work hard then you should be able to enjoy your success too, right? Lily Allen lets us have our ‘cake and eat it,’ acknowledging our hard work and ‘sleepless nights.’ You have put so much effort into getting to where you are now. There will be jealous people along the way but you have the right to enjoy your achievements without feeling guilty. Don’t let imposter syndrome get the better of you! You have as much of a right to be here as anybody else!
