Top Gifts For Your Teachers

With the school year wrapping up, now is the best time to start thinking about what to get your favourite teachers to show your appreciation.

It’s teacher appreciation week in the US, but that doesn’t mean we can’t show the love over here too. Saying that teachers have had a tough couple of years is definitely an understatement. So why not treat them to a little something to really say thank you.

Gift cards

We Are Teachers says gift cards are the number one choice to show your gratitude. It will show your lecturer that you care, while giving them the freedom to choose something for themselves. Get something more generic like Amazon Love 2 Shop or, if you know them a little better, Waterstones, their favourite restaurant, or something else.

A Mug

I don’t know about you, but I think you can never have enough mugs. Teachers are always in need of caffeine, so gift them a cute mug this year. Want to one-up the typical mug? Consider an insulated one or even a heated coaster to keep that coffee warm for longer.

Supplies

Teachers can never have enough pens, notepads or whiteboard rubbers. It seems a bit cliche, but sometimes cliches are there for a reason. A lot of a teachers’ budget goes on supplies like this, and there’s never enough money for the fancy ones. Take a trip to Paperchase for some Stabilo highlighters, or animal print post-it-notes for your favourite lecturer this year.

A Card

Sometimes, a card is more than good enough to show your gratitude. Teachers don’t expect gifts and student life can mean being a little strapped for cash. A card, or even a note, is plenty to say thanks for the year. Some universities don’t allow gift-giving (something you should check before you go ahead and buy anything), so a card is a perfect compromise.
