Going to university in Oxford is revered. And so it should be! The courses are some of the best taught in the UK and have produced a heap of influential figures throughout our history. But, what happens when you want to chill out and relax? You don’t want to spend your few spare nights out trudging around the city looking for places. So, here are a list of some of the top places you can go in Oxford for a great student night out.

Purple Turtle Bar

This is one of Oxford’s best hidden gems for a great night out. Ideal for students, this place serves pints for only £1 on weekdays from 5pm to 9pm! Honestly, what could be better than that?

With low ceilings, blasting music and people packed in, this is the place for students who want to dance on the spot in amongst strangers who could turn into music mates.

There are a range of drinks on the menu at the PT bar, from vodka to gin, whiskey to pints. If you want to have that classy edge, there is also a cocktail menu. This is a must if you are looking for a great student night out in Oxford.

The Varsity Club

The Varsity Club is a stunning rooftop bar in the centre of Oxford. While the drinks may be slightly more expensive than you would get at an underground club, it truly is worth the extra few coins.

This bar has four floors, all of which give you a different vibe, so you can definitely find the right one for you. From a chic bar vibe to an atmospheric nightclub, depending on what kind of night you wish to have, you can freely experience whichever floor you wish.

You can see all across the city from this bar, getting a great look at Oxford’s skyline from a unique position.

The Bullingdon

The Bullingdon is a great night out for any live music lovers. Here you can dance the night away to some of the cities best DJ’s as well as some up-and-coming artist from the surrounding areas.

This is student central during the weekend as is stays open until the early hours of the morning. So, you don’t even need to go anywhere else to finish the night off, this can be your spot.

ATIK

Atik is the place to be for banging tunes, cheap drinks and staying up all night. This is a staple club in Oxford (otherwise known as Park End) which has a more relaxed dress code than some other clubs around the city.

Here you can dance the night away surrounded by lazers, booming speakers, smoke machines and all that great night out stuff. This is mainly frequented by students, so the drinks are at a good price range.

Raoul’s

Founded in 1979, Raoul’s bar is more for the sophisticated drinkers. Here you can meet your friends for a classy drink of some of the best alcohol on offer.

Whatever your drink of choice, there will be something esteemed for you here at Raoul’s. There is a variety of options, from luxurious cocktails to aged whiskey and wine.

Raoul’s also has a resident DJ who can really set the atmosphere and get you in the mood to socialise and relax. This bar spans across two storeys, so you can fully explore it at your leisure.
