The University Campus of Football Business really is a unique university offering. While there are plenty of purpose built institutions for different vocations such as the arts and service industries, UCFB gives students the opportunity to obtain a degree in one of the most passionate sports on the planet, football. With a wide range of courses covering playing, coaching and even media, the university really is something unique in modern education.
The university has campuses located both in London and Manchester. What makes the whole experience so appealing is the opportunity to study within football institutions. The Manchester campus is based at the Etihad stadium, the home of Manchester City Football Club. The London campus is based at Wembley stadium, home of English football and arguably one of the most iconic stadiums in the world. While I was already aware of this unique institution, I was keen to hear from someone who is looking forward to studying at UCFB. Jack has just finished college and now looks forward to spending the next three years of his life in London, studying in the shadow of Wembley stadium. When asked about how he felt about the chance to study there he stated, ‘UCFB is an amazing opportunity for students who love football. The university has so many links with many football clubs in the football league’.
We know that one of the most important parts of post-university life is being able to source a credible job. UCFB seems to provide some amazing networking opportunities.
Likeminded housemates
The unique nature of the university doesn’t stop there. Students often spend their entire time in halls of residence with a tight knit community of students who aspire to build a career in football. Jack was keen to point this out when I spoke to him and said, ‘Being part of the university is a dream come true. With the unique dorms and campus area it is simply fantastic’.
In fact Jack could not have spoken highly enough about this less than conventional university experience!
While many of us find some incredible experiences in conventional universities, institutions which are purpose built for one specific academic purpose really do have an appeal. The opportunity to be involved with individuals going through exactly the same thing as yourself can create a real sense of community. Furthermore, the unique aspect of where you study can be an incredible inspiration. And UCFB seems to have all of this absolutely bang on!
