How To Cope With Missing Your Pet At University

Add as preferred source on Google

In honour of national Love Your Pet Day earlier this month, here are a few ways to cope when you miss your pet at university.

Look at pictures

Make sure that you take lots of photos of your pet so that, when you miss them, you can see them on your phone. You could also consider printing out pictures of them and putting them in frames in your room or house so you can always see them.

Talk with others

Talk about your love for your pet with others. Discussing them with other animal lovers is sure to leave you feeling better. You can even show each other pictures. Be sure to also share any funny stories about your pet as that will leave you feeling great.

Facetime

If looking at a still picture of your pet just is not enough, consider phoning home and asking to speak to your pride and joy. They may find seeing you on a screen confusing at first but they will definitely grow to love it! Video calling allows for an opportunity to see your pet’s funny antics and personality.

Plan to see them

If looking at a picture or video calling just won’t do, it might be time to consider going to visit your pet in person. There is definitely no substitute for hugging them and playing with them.

Watch funny pet videos

You might be able to fulfil your desire to see your pet by watching funny pet videos online. The vids are definitely cute and will leave you laughing every time. They are not your pet, but sometimes it’s enough to make you happy.

Ask your parents for updates

When you speak to your parents, ask them to update you on how your pet is doing. Definitely ask them to send you any images or videos of your pet doing things for the first time or something particularly funny.  This will allow you to retain a solid link to your pet and ensure you don’t feel that you are missing out on anything important.
