They happen each year, but it’s still concerning to students taking their exams. This year, many thought their A Level psychology paper for 2023 had leaked, amongst others. However, these turned out to be fake. To help ease worries, we can tell you what happens if an A Level paper is leaked.

Many may hopefully wish for the exams to be leaked before taking them. But in reality, that wouldn’t be especially helpful and exam boards would find out pretty pronto.

That doesn’t stop people from faking papers each year trying to catch out Year 13 students wanting an easier life. Once again this happened during this exam season as many believed their psychology paper had been leaked.

Students React To Fake Psychology Paper 2023 Being Leaked

Though it may seem like a dream scenario, that’s far from the truth. As many discovered the leaks online, concern grew for what was going to happen.

After someone posted it on TikTok, someone who took the exam commented “can confirm this was cap,” meaning that it was incorrect.

Many who found them, believing them to be real reported them immediately to Ofqual, which is what you should do if you suspect the same.

Understandably, students were worried about what would happen if real exams did leak. There have been rumours that the actual psychology A Level paper was revealed to some under an hour before the test. As long as you didn’t access it, you will be fine and should be proud of yourself for sitting the exam!

Especially as those who took the exam report that it featured three 16-mark questions, something pretty unprecedented for the paper.

What Happens If An A Level Paper Is Leaked?

According to Medium, if an A Level paper is leaked, then all those who saw the leak would be disqualified.

Many students wrongly believe that if that happened, anyone who took the exam would resit. Thankfully, this is not the case and only those who had seen the paper would be penalised.

In this day and age, it’s easier than ever for an exam to be leaked. However, exam boards have their ways of finding the students who cheated. Not only that, but they will disqualify students from all papers they sat with that exam board, so it’s definitely not worth it.

If, for some reason, the exam board can’t determine exactly who saw the leak, or if it was on a server commonly used by students, then everyone would be awarded marks so that no advantage would be given.

It’s clear to see that the latter option would appeal to students, but that is a last resort.

With the concern over recent papers, nothing official has been said if any of the leaks were true. However, many students said that they were incorrect. Definitely don’t wish for leaked A Level papers in 2023 to get extra marks, and definitely don’t go seeking them out! After all your hard work, you’d hate for it to go out the window and then some.
