What Is Full Moon Water?

Moon water is water that has been left out in the moonlight to charge in its energy. This is typically done during a full moon when its energy and power are at its peak, however, it can be done when the moon is almost full.

A big no-no of creating moon water is doing it during a lunar eclipse. This is power the energy of an eclipse overpowers that of the full moon and can have a negative impact on the water. The moon already has a connection to water through its impact on the tides, yet this can be amplified.

How To Make It

Your moon water can be as complicated as you want it to be. It’s recommended that use youse some cleansing herbs and essential oils. Lavender, mugwort and rosemary are great options due to their connection to the moon and the positive, relaxed energy they give off. Others also use crystals when making their moon water, but this is optional.

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, you’ll want to cleanse the jar/bottle you’ll be storing the water. You can do this by using smoke from burning your herbs, coating the inside in essential oils, or just rubbing the leaves of the herbs on the inside. Now your container is prepared, you can add your water. It would also be at this point that you would add any herbs or oils that you want to marinate in the water.

Importantly, you have to leave your water outside to bask in the full moonlight. You’ll want to do this when its light is the brightest and most powerful. However, even if you can’t see the moon then its energy will still be present and the water will charge.

Once the water has bathed in the moon’s energy, you can collect it.

How Do You Use Moon Water?

There is no strict way to use full moon water, as long as you incorporate it into your spiritual routine.

People believe that the moon’s power is associated with renewal, cleansing and intention. So, use your moon water where you need more of this energy in your life. If it’s within yourself, then you can drink or bathe in it. It could be for your house or the people in it. In that case, you can spray it around your home.
