PMO is an acronym that usually stands for one of three things. The first meaning is ‘put me on’ in the sense of seeking out an interpersonal connection. So if someone requests that you put them on, they’re asking for you to follow their socials. It can be a friendly and casual way to form an acquaintance with someone online.
PMO can also mean ‘put me on’ in the sense of learning of new information. If someone says that ‘my friend pmo to this band,’ for example, it means their friend introduced them to that band, which they then took an interest in.
Alternatively, PMO can also mean ‘p*ss me off.’ Someone might say ‘my little brother is really starting to pmo.’ Unlike the other usages of PMO, this one indicates frustration.

How to tell which meaning is being used
If one acronym can mean three different things, how can you tell which meaning is being used? Well, you might not always be able to tell, with 100% certainty, but using context clues can help you determine which version of PMO is being used.
The second usage of PMO is the most easily identifiable. This is because it is almost always followed by ‘to.’ So, any sentence that involves the statement ‘pmo to x’ means that the person learned about x (often music, films, art, etc.) The other meanings don’t typically follow this sentence structure.
