Joe Alwyn’s rise to fame
Alwyn started his rise to stardom by studying – and at age 24 he left the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to star in Ang Lee’s 2016 Drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, as well as acting in productions for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Before getting the role of Adrian Finn in the film The Sense of an Ending, in 2017.
Things really moved forward for the British actor in 2018 when he landed roles in some mega hits including Mary Queen of Scots, Boy Erased, The Favourite, and Operation Finale. Alwyn won several awards for The Favourite including a Gold Derby Award, an Online Film & Television Association Award, and a Satellite Award. Alongside this, he was awarded a Trophée Chopard at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for his work in Mary Queen of Scots.

In 2019 Alwyn took on the iconic role of Bob Cratchit in the BBC TV mini-series A Christmas Carol – all before going on to get a Grammy.
That’s right he has a Grammy – not because he’s some amazing musician but he may just be a lyrical genius after co-writing several songs with his partner, Swift, for her albums Folklore and Evermore – the former of which won a Grammy for ‘album of the year’.
