What Is Passport Makeup?
Our photos for passports and driver’s licenses are rarely the most flattering. These photos are often taken in a time crunch after waiting in a long line, and rarely when we’ve had a chance to put on some glam. The harsh glare of the camera and the dim office building lighting can make us look washed out. Even if we have put on makeup, many regular makeup techniques simply don’t cut it under this particular type of lighting. That’s where the passport makeup trend comes in: a look designed to make you look your best even in the face of the harshest or dullest light.
It doesn’t have to just be worn for taking a passport photo, however. This look can be a great all-around option for day to day wear, whether you’re on or off camera. So, here is how you can try it out for yourself.
How To Achieve The Passport Makeup Look
One of the most important parts of passport makeup is the base. For this look, you’ll want to contour your cheekbones, chin, nose and the crease of your eyes. Place a lighter colour on your undereyes, forehead and chin. For the rest of the face, use a high coverage foundation in your regular tone, and then blend everything together. Finish with a little bit of blush on the cheeks.
For the eyes, you’ll want to achieve a sort of natural glam, or no-makeup makeup look. To do this, take a neutral brown shade and blend it into your crease. Line your eyes with a dark brown liner on the upper lash line and draw it out past where your eye ends, curving slightly upward. Fill in your lashes with black or brown mascara.
Then, use a spoolie to fluff up your brows and set them with a gel. For lips, take a neutral or nude shade and then go over them with a simple gloss.
