What TV Specials Are On Over Christmas?

TV Christmas specials are really enjoyable parts of this season but what ones are on over this festive period?

Many people’s television favourites a set to enjoy a Christmas edition.

Below are some of the most popular television series back for a Christmas special this year, and what they should contain.

Have a read and see if you fancy switching on the TV after your Christmas dinner and enjoying some of your most beloved characters in this festive season.

Call the Midwife

This long running series has dominated the Christmas specials for years now.

These specials are always filled with Christmas spirit as you see the midwives help to deliver beautiful babies during some sense of turmoil.

This season six festive special will run for an hour and a half. And we’ll see the return of a character whose baby was born during the thalidomide scandal.

This shall air at 7:55 PM on BBC1 on Christmas Day.

Bad Education

BBC3 released a Bad Education Christmas special ahead of its season four renewal.

This show has not been on our screens for a few years but still has many of the same class from form K.

Abbey Grove and all of its students will be back for a 45-minute special.

You can watch this on catch up on BBC iPlayer as a pre-Christmas festive treat.

Strictly Come Dancing

This is one of the most popular shows of the year and its Christmas special will take place on Christmas Day at 5:10 PM on BBC One.

Here you will see many celebrities slipping back into their dance shoes for an annual festive dance number.

If dancing is your passion, this would definitely be something that should be in your diaries.

The Chase

If quiz shows are part of your family Christmas plans, then schedule in this Christmas special which airs at 5:00 PM on Christmas Day on ITV.

This year the special is Alice in Wonderland themed, so your favourite Chasers will be dressed up from this particular story.
