Dollface was the perfect show to come out just before the whole world shut down at the end of 2019. And now it is back for another sensational second season! With the same witty comebacks, fierce outfits and strong female energy, this show is just as good, (maybe even better) than it’s knockout first season.
What is Dollface?
After being dumped by her boyfriend, Jules realises that she has neglected all of her girlfriends and is now fully alone. So, she must try and re-enter the world of female friendships and face her own shortcomings.
Season two continues to follow Jules and her now three best friends. After rekindling their friendship, the group now have to juggle keeping their girlfriends close, whilst also navigating love, work and taking a deeper look inside themselves. This season also makes reference to the Covid-19 pandemic, from very new couples moving in together to weird work zoom meetings.
Who is in the show?
The lead of the show, Jules, is portrayed by Kat Dennings, best known for her role in 2 broke girls. Jules’ best girlfriends are played by: Brenda Song (The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars) and Esther Povitsky (Alone Together).
Other notable cast memebrs include: Matthew Gray Gubler, Beth Grant, Malin Akerman, Goran Visnjic and Lilly Singh.
Reviews
In Decider‘s ‘Stream It Or Skip It‘ article, Jade Budowski ultimatley places Dollface in the ‘Stream It’ column. She writes that the cast have ‘genuinely moving heart-to-hearts, laugh-out-loud shenanigans, and memorable fashion moments. The show might keep things pretty shallow, but that doesn’t make it any less watchable and endearing.’
The shows first season recieves a strong 75% score on Rotten Tomtoes. And amazingly, Dollface‘s second season garners an even better 80% audience rating.
