‘HBO Max Just Canceled’ is trending on Twitter after the Batgirl movie was axed, and now people are imagining up other ‘canceled’ movies.
Fans were left absolutely outraged after Warner Bros. Discovery decided to cancel the upcoming, and nearly finished, Batgirl movie after the media company decided it would be financially better to shelve the movie, than release it, meaning it won’t be shown on HBO Max as originally planned.

The movie boasted a star studded cast, which featured the likes of Michael Keaton as Batman, Leslie Grace as Batgirl, J.K Simmons and Brendan Fraser. The film was reported to have cost up to $100 million to make, and was set to stream on HBO Max in late 2022.
However, feedback from the test screening was so poor that DC decided to scrap the movie altogether. According to the New York Post, Batgirl was so bad that it was deemed ‘irredeemable’ by a Hollywood source.
Filming took place in this past January, as Glasgow was transformed into Gotham City. Michael Keaton reprised his role of Batman for the movie, which was highly anticipated among fans.
Batgirl wasn’t the only movie canceled, Scoob: Holiday Haunt, was also scrapped by WBD. The company CEO addressed the company’s controversial decision saying: ‘We’re not going to launch a movie until it’s ready. We’re not going to launch a movie to make a quarter and we’re not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it.’
