People online have taken to the internet to up-face the late 20th century book series ‘Mr. Men’ and ‘Little Miss’. Internet users are changing the book covers to represent their own personality traits, in a trend that is going viral on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

What Are The ‘Little Miss’ Memes?

Users are taking the classic book covers, and changing the characters to represent their own personality traits and habits. What once was ‘Little Miss Giggles’ is now ‘Little Miss I’m Over Him‘ in the new meme format. The memes also feature ‘Mr. Men’, and also include the gender neutral term ‘Mx.’ to include those who are non binary.

People are using the trend to share their medical symptoms (Little Miss Tired All The Time), (Little Miss Peanut Allergy), some are using them to call out their ex boyfriends (Mr. Cant Say Sorry) and others are using them to share their love of spirituality (Mx. Obsessed With Crystals).

How Did The Memes Start?

The ‘Mr. Men’ book series was created and written by Roger Hargreaves from 1971, which created the famous ‘Mr. Tickle’. When looking to expand to a greater audience, Hargreaves penned the ‘Little Miss’ series in 1981, which saw the creation of ‘Little Miss Bossy’, ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and ‘Little Miss Naughty’.

According to the website ‘Know Your Meme‘, the first ‘Little Miss’ meme was posted back in June 2021 on Tumblr. In 2022, Instagram user juulpuppy uploaded a carousel of nine memes to Instagram, which included: ‘Little Miss SheIn Haul’ and ‘Little Miss Fearful Avoidant’. The post received 39,000 likes in three months, and prompted the same user to post more of the memes.

In June 2022, the trend spread to TikTok, with user starbucksslayqueen posting multiple memes in a slideshow format. The TikTok user made memes such as ‘Little Miss Migraine’ and ‘Little Miss Wattpad’. The memes then spread to Twitter and Instagram where the trend went viral.
