What we know so far about the Argylle movie

The film – produced and set to stream on Apple TV+ – ‘follows the globe-trotting adventures of a super-spy named Argylle across the US, London and other exotic locations’, according to the synopsis.

Argylle is a film adaption of the currently unpublished novel by Ellie Conway and stars The Witcher and Superman actor Henry Cavill alongside Lipa.

But Cavill and Lipa aren’t the only ones to get excited about. The cast is packed with some top Hollywood names.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Ariana DeBose, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson are all set to appear in the film.

Directed by Mathew Vaughn (the Kingsman franchise) Argylle will be the 26-year-old British singer’s acting debut and is set to ‘reinvent the spy genre’, according to NME.

Vaughn said in a statement to the publication: ‘‘When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre.’

Although the release date hasn’t been announced, we do know it was filmed last summer and will be streaming on Apple TV+.

‘Sweetest Pie’ With Megan Thee Stallion

Lipa’s move into acting doesn’t mean she’s leaving her musical roots behind. In fact, the singer has just dropped the song ‘Sweetest Pie’, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, for which the video was released today, Friday March 11.

It is fantastical and crazy, and fans are loving it. In the video, the two artists fend off loads of men in amazing fantasy settings, with the duo at one point burning a castle and men to ashes.

Fans seem to love the whole aesthetic of the video and the energy of it.

The ‘Sweetest Pie’ video was a concept created by Megan The Stallion – real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – and is said to just be a taste of her upcoming album – however, that is being kept firmly under wraps as the album title, track list and release date haven’t been announced.

New Queen Of Collaborations

Although this is their first collaboration, this won’t be the last we hear of Lipa alongside the 27-year-old American rapper, according to Rolling Stone the song comes ahead of Megan featuring on the British singer’s podcast, ‘At Your Service’, during which they’ll be discussing ‘song, activism, misogyny and other topics’.

‘Sweetest Pie’ is Dua Lipa’s first big hit since she collaborated with none other than Elton John on the song ‘Cold Heart’.

In fact, the star has some pretty amazing collaborations under her sleeve as she’s worked with everyone from Pop Smoke and Missy Elliott to Miley Cyrus and Brockhampton.
