The full cast of Netflix’s Bridgerton prequel has been revealed and here’s all we know as India Amarteifio is tipped to star as a young Queen Charlotte.

Netflix confirmed it would be producing the untitled prequel, which is set to focus on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, back in May 2021. But now Variety has revealed the cast.

What we know about the prequel

According to Variety the prequel series will tell the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story – which viewers have seen snippets of during their moments in season one and two – and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

The series will also follow the lives of young Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury as Shonda Rhimes is set to write and executive produce, with Betsy Beers and Tom Verica also executive producing.

The publication has confirmed India Amarteifio will take on the role of the young Queen Charlotte in the series, while Corey Mylchreest will play young King George.

Alongside this fans of the the original cast won’t be disappointed as Queen Charlotte actress Golda Rosheuvel will also appear in the series along with her fellow Bridgerton stars Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) and Arsema Thomas will also appear as a young Lady Danbury.

There is no release date for the prequel yet, as season 2 of the series has just dropped on Netflix.

Who is India Amarteifio?

Fans of Line of Duty will know Amarteifio as Sophie, the daughter of DCI Roz Huntley, in season four of the popular show. Although this prequel will mark a debut for the 21-year-old as her first starring role she has also been in Sex Education, Doctor Who, and Unforgotten.

India is well prepped for the role as, alongside Amy Winehouse, Keeley Hawes and Rita Ora, she has graduated high school from the Sylvia Young Theatre School after getting the Stage scholarship.
