Bridgerton season 2 has finally dropped on Netflix and fans are already loving it, so here’s all you need to know including how many episodes there are in the series.
The highly-anticipated steamy series has made its return today, Friday March 25, and fans say it got their ‘hearts racing’ after viewing the first episode.
Bridgerton Season 2
Like the first series, the second season of Bridgerton has eight episodes and follows the Bridgerton family as they muddle through more complicated romantic adventures all under the watchful eye of Lady Whistledown. It’s all based on the series of books by Julia Quinn.
Unlike season one, which followed the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and her romance with the handsome Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), this season focuses on older brother Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his complicated love triangle between sisters Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charitha Chandran).
This was confirmed when Netflix released a letter from ‘Lady Whistledown’ – who announced the second season – saying: ‘This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season. I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities.’
Without giving too much away this season picks up after first one ended with the start of a new season on the Ton and Anthony is looking for a woman to marry. Kate is in London to help her younger sister Edwina find a husband – but could she end up falling for Anthony herself? We’ll see.
Fans react
Only hours into its streaming time fans of the period drama are already sharing their love and excitement on Twitter. One person said seeing it in full was ‘much more satisfying’ and another said the fictional historical drama had their ‘heart racing’.
It looks like any fans who were disappointed by the prospect of Page not returning as the Duke, they shouldn’t be too upset with what’s in store for them.
