Bimini Bon-Boulash and their UK Hun? song and dance verse on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has been nominated for a TV BAFTA Virgin Media Must-See Moment Award.
The television BAFTA award nominations are here, and the one everyone is excited for is the’Must-See Moment’ award, which is voted for by the public.
Bimini Up For A BAFTA
Bimini Bon-Boulash – known offstage as Thomas Hibbits (they/them) – is perhaps Britain’s best-known drag queen. The 28-year-old author, model, and musician is best known for competing on the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where they placed as a runner-up.
It was announced today, Wednesday March 23, that Bimini’s verse in the ‘UK Hun?’ song and dance on Drag Race had earned them a nomination for ‘Must-See Moment’ and, rightly so, Bimini was thrilled when they shared it on Twitter.
On the BAFTA site it said Bimini is up for the award due to the combination of ‘powerful lyrics and unbelievable dancing’ – and let’s be honest it was amazing.
The nomination reads: ‘Bimini Bon Boulash returned with fire in their belly to prove themselves after a 7-month filming break due to lockdown.
‘Bimini’s verse in The RuRuVision Song Contest was their time to shine, combining powerful lyrics with unbelievable dancing to help propel The United Kingdolls and ‘UK Hun?’ into pop-culture herstory. Bing bang bong to that!’
Who’s Nominated for the BAFTA Must-See Moment Award?
Bimini’s verse in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is just one of six standout scenes nominated for the award from the past 12 months.

When is the BAFTAs?
The host of the BAFTA TV Awards 2022 has not yet been announced, but the show is set to go ahead on Sunday May 8.
