For those that love a holiday, being stuck at home all summer can be tough. Especially seeing everybody’s holiday posts on Instagram. Fear not, if you seek some escapism. Here are the books that will make you feel like you’re on holiday this summer.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

Kwan tells the story of Nick and Rachel, a young, loved-up couple from New York. Nick’s best friend, Colin, is getting married in Singapore. So, Nick brings Rachel on holiday to meet his crazy, rich family. It’s a delicious read, with such extravagant stories that it will feel like you’re there. Kwan offers some beautiful descriptions of cities, beaches, and houses. It’s impossible not to feel like you’re in Singapore, too. The characters are hilarious and it has the perfect balance between serious and comedy. What’s not to love about this holiday read?

The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas

From Singapore we go to Spain. The Spanish Love Deception, as the title would suggest, is set in Spain. With a wedding. With enemies-to-lovers. So, what more could you want? Catalina needs a date for her sister’s wedding, and who better to ask than the guy she dislikes? It’s a romcom in Spain with love, trials, and tribulations. So why not travel with Catalina as she attempts to impress at the wedding.

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

A dreamy novel all about a band road-tripping around America in the 60s and 70s. This book has it all. Romance, rock ‘n’ roll and summer. It also lifts a lid on the challenging times for the band. Again, with a stunning list of characters, you will not want to miss this. It’s a great story to lose yourself in and, when reading, you’ll forget your stuck at home with no holiday.

The best way to escape is through a good book. So, indulge yourself and live your best life alongside Daisy Jones. Pretend you’re going to a holiday wedding with Catalina. Or, stroll around Singapore with Rachel and Nick.
