Everyone loves a good Christmas movie, but what about an action Christmas movie? This December, David Harbour is starring as the not-so-jolly Santa Claus in “Violent Night”. This is Deadpool meets Home Alone, so what’s not to like? Here is everything you need to know about David Harbour’s Christmas film.

Violent Night

The Stranger Things and Black Widow star is set to play Santa Claus, who steps in to help fight mercenaries when they attack a wealthy estate on Christmas Eve.

The film premiered in October 2022 at the New York Comic Con. Harbour told the crowd at Comic Con:

“Who doesn’t love a great action movie, right? How about Christmas movies? So, what about a movie that’s a great action movie and the greatest Christmas movie in one? What if kickass director Tommy Wirkola and the badass producers at 87North… were behind it all? And, wait a minute, what if I starred in it as f****** Santa Claus?”

Violent Night will be released worldwide on 2 December 2022. It is rated 15 in the UK and R in America.

Who Stars In Violent Night?

Starring next to Harbour is action film legend John Leguizamo. He has appeared in several staple action films over the years such as Spawn (1997), John Wick (2014) and America Ultra (2015). In Violent Night, Leguizamo plays Ben, the head mercenary.

Another part of the gang is Cam Gigandet. He is best known for his role as James in the Twilight series. Gigandet has also appeared in Easy A (2010), Priest (2011) and The Magnificent Seven (2016).

Playing Gertrude Lightstone, the matriarch of her family is Beverly D’Angelo. She has appeared in many films such as National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), American History X (1998) and Coal Miner’s Daughter, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Other cast members include Alex Hassell (Legend of the Seeker), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (Knives Out) and Norwegian rapper André Eriksen.
