The Sandman’s ‘Desire’ actor, Mason Alexander Park has said they were ‘blown away’ by the whole experience filming the latest Netflix series.
In a recent interview, ahead of the series dropping on the streamer last week, Park (who identifies as they/them) spoke to Narcity about their filming experience and the tattoos they got after playing the character.

Netflix’s latest fantasy series, The Sandman, dropped on Netflix on August 5, and follows the story of Morpheus, the king of dreams aka Dream and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual in England, in 1916.
After being held captive for 106 years, Dream – played by Tom Sturridge – escapes and sets out to restore order to his realm, The Dreaming.
Dream goes on a journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused. During his journey, he comes across some of the other seven Endless, including Desire.
The series is based on the 1990s graphic novel, of the same name, by Neil Gaiman.

Park plays the role of Desire, one of the Endless, Dream considers like siblings. According to an interview with Narcity Park was ‘blown away’ by the whole experience.
They said: ‘I was just blown away by even having the opportunity to experience something like this.’
Park went on to say they have an “endless well of geekdom” for the series, and as a non-binary actor, they wanted to play the non-binary Desire because of how well author Neil Gaiman wrote the character in his hit ’90s graphic novel.
‘Neil understands the human condition in a way that I think very few people can put into words, and he really, really has a handle on those words,’ they said. ‘To be able to translate that to the screen is an incredible honour.’
Park also spoke about the tattoos they got due the influence of the character but got before filming.
They said: ‘I think I got it before we filmed. I actually don’t remember.’
They added that they got a few smaller ones as well, including one that says “Endless”, which is a reference to the god-like family that Desire and Dream both belong to in the series.
