It’s the season for cheesy Christmas films and Netflix’s Falling for Christmas is destined to be the next festive favourite.
We all have a Christmas classic that we watch religiously every time the festive season comes around. But, we also all love the cheesy films Netflix and more come out with every year. This year, it’s Falling for Christmas.
The Falling for Christmas cast
Falling for Christmas stars none other than Mean Girls alumni Lindsay Lohan and Chord Overstreet. Lindsay plays a newly engaged hotel heiress Sierra, and Chord is a lodge owner who comes to her aid after an accident. Also starring are George Young, and Jack Wagner of General Hospital fame.
The film is the first role in a major production in over ten years. After suffering numerous personal issues it’s great to see Lindsay back on our screens.
You probably know Chord Overstreet best for his role as Sam Evans on Glee. Last year the actor and musician featured in Apple TV’s comedy series Acapulco; the second series of which started last month.
What is the film about?
According to Netflix, the film is about a rich heiress who gets into an accident and finds herself in need of some care at Christmas. It might not be the most elaborate plot, but it’s guaranteed to have some Christmas feel-good qualities.
“After losing her memory in a skiing accident, a spoiled heiress lands in the cosy care of a down-on-his-luck widower and his daughter at Christmastime.”
On the movie, Lohan spoke to ET about how much fun it was to film.
“It was just one of those things too, where we had a lot of fun and it was really comfortable and easy and everybody on set kind of set up such a warm holiday environment that it just felt like Christmas for two months.”
Two months of Christmas? Where can we get involved?
The film debuts on Netflix tomorrow (November 10) so there’s plenty of time to get in a couple of watches before the big day.
What do the reviews say?
As the film doesn’t come out until tomorrow, there aren’t very many reviews on it yet. However, one early critic has pipped everyone else to the post and managed to get a sneaky watch in early.
Posting their review on Rotten Tomatoes, they rated the film 2.5 stars out of 5.
“It’s glossy, it’s snowy and silly fun, and in the end, that’s all that we should ask of it. Rubbish, but entertaining rubbish.”
We’re not sure anyone is expecting anything too serious, particularly from a Netflix Christmas film. However, it definitely sounds like a fun watch for the whole family.
