The movie adaptation of Stephen King’s Mr. Harrigan’s Phone has finally dropped on Netflix and already fans are saying they “loved it”.
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone only dropped yesterday, October 5, on the streaming site and already fans are obsessed, with some even comparing it to the likes of Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is actually just one of four previously unpublished novellas by the American writer brought together in the collection If It Bleeds.
The story follows the life of the main character Craig (played by Jaeden Martell), a young boy living in a small town who befriends Mr. Harrigan, an older, reclusive billionaire (Donald Sutherland), the two begin to form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading.
But when Mr. Harrigan sadly passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone and strangely finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave through the iPhone.
Netflix describes it as a “supernatural coming-of-age story that shows that certain connections are never lost”.
As well as being based on the short story by Stephen King, Mr Harrigan’s Phone is directed and written by John Lee Hancock and produced by Ryan Murphy, Jason Blum and Carla Hacken.
Joe Tippett, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Cyrus Arnold, Colin O’Brien, Thomas Francis Murphy and Peggy J. Scott also co-star.
Fans ‘Loved’ Mr. Harrigann’s Phone
Since it dropped on Netflix people have flocked to watch the next Stephen King adaptation – and many haven’t been disappointed.
Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts with loads saying they “loved it”, one fan likening it to Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and Stand By Me for movie quality, and even one saying they’re going back for a second and third viewing of the movie.
While Sutherland is a veteran and talented actor many loved Martell who won praise from several fans too.
