Taylor Swift announced the vinyl of her upcoming album Midnights make a clock and now fans are saying they wish they were ‘rich’ to buy it.

The 32-year-old singer-songwriter confirmed the four vinyl versions of her tenth studio album make up a clock when put together – now fans not only want them all, and the clock mechanism, but want the money to spend on her albums.

At the 2022 VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards) the 11-time Grammy winner confirmed rather than dropping another re-recording of her old albums, she would be dropping her next studio album.

While accepting one of her two awards of the evening – Swift walked home with awards for best longform video and video of the year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” from her 2021 re-recorded album Red – she said: ‘My brand new album comes out October 21, I will tell you more at midnight.’

Then at midnight, she dropped the name of the tenth album on social media with the explanation the record tells “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life”.

Since then, via her shop, fans have been able to pre-order not only the album in its clean and explicit versions digitally, on CD, cassette and vinyl, but she also dropped four versions of the vinyl.

This morning, Friday 16, September, the “Bad Blood” singer posted to social media explaining the four vinyl albums – “Moonstone Blue”, “Jade Green”, “Blood Moon” and “Mahogany” editions – explaining they make up a clock and she joked “it can help you tell time”.

Now fans are, obviously, losing it saying they want the clock, but some are joking that they wish they were “rich” enough to buy all four of the vinyl versions and the clock mechanism – which would set fans back roughly $170, when purchased from her merch store.

Others have commented on Swift’s marketing abilities with one calling her a “capitalist queen” and another calling her a “marketing queen”.

And most other fans have just stated how much they “need” all the albums and the clock.
