Fun Alternatives To Graduation If You Don’t Want To Attend

Many students enjoy attending their graduation ceremony and having a professional photoshoot with their cap and gown. It can be a fantastic way to celebrate and acknowledge their achievements. However, others opt to skip the ceremony. After all, it can be quite crowded and not always the most entertaining to watch. Plus, with larger graduating classes, students tend not to be called up to walk across the stage. But if you’re skipping your graduation, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the occasion in other ways. Here are some fun alternatives to graduation if you don’t want to attend your ceremony this year.

Have A More Casual Photoshoot

If hiring a professional photographer is too pricey or too much pressure, you can commemorate the occasion with a more low-key photoshoot. Have a family member or a friend take pictures of you for the special day. That way you’ll have some more candid, fun photos to look back on. After all, everyone looks better when they’re at ease.

Have A Bonfire

A bonfire can be a great way to celebrate graduating. In cooler spring weather, it allows your friends and family to gather outdoors without getting too chilly. You can cook hot dogs, s’mores, or other favourite campfire foods. Plus, if you’ve worked on a big essay or dissertation, you can take the opportunity to burn it for the catharsis. Just make sure it’s not your only copy!

Put Together A Slideshow Or Photo Collage

This is also a great opportunity to look back on some of your fond memories of university. Put together some of your favourite photos from over the years, and look over them with family and friends at your gathering. It’s great way to relive some treasured moments and see how far you’ve come.

Go On A Trip

University is hard work, so what better way to reward yourself for completing your degree than to take a trip? Booking a holiday can be a great alternative to attending your graduation ceremony, whether you’re relaxing by the beach, getting a spa treatment, or exploring a new city.

Go To A Concert

Another one of the fun alternatives to graduation is to go to a concert. If you’re a music lover, a great way to celebrate is to go to see a band you like. After all the stress of university, concerts are a great time to dance and unwind.
