TikTok Live has become an integral part of the platform and it has many people asking a strange new question: How much is the Lion on TikTok? While the app is known primarily for short-form video, the Live feature gives creators the opportunity to connect with their audiences in a different way. Creators can respond directly to comments as they pop up, answer questions and be a part of a conversation that isn’t possible with regular TikToks. To use TikTok Live, you need to be at least 16 years old and have a minimum of 1000 followers.

Audience members can also give gifts to certain creators on Live. To be eligible for gifts, a creator has to join TikTok Creator Next and meet the requirements. They must be at least 18 years of age, have a certain amount of followers/views, and have posted at least three times in the past 30 days. Creators who are accepted unlock access to new ways to monetize their content, including gifts. Gifts range in value and take a variety of forms from a panda to rainbow puke, but one of the rarest is the lion.

What is The Lion on TikTok Live?

The lion gift has become famous, or infamous, because of its expensive price tag. It’s one of the largest gifts you can give to a creator, after the massive TikTok Universe gift. Like other gifts, the lion has an animation, and it pops up on the screen and roars. It’s a surefire way to spoil a favourite creator and grab their attention, if you’re willing to fork out for it.

How Much Does A Lion Cost?

To purchase a gift on TikTok Live, you have to convert your money to the in-app currency, TikTok coins, first. The smallest purchase of coins you can make is 40, for 49p (56¢), with discounts on larger bundles. You can get a bundle of 1321 coins for £17.99 ($20.70). To buy the lion gift, you will need to spend a whopping 29,999 coins, equivalent to about £400 ($460.36).

Essentially, there’s a reason why the lion gift is so rare. Very few people choose to spend this much money, and it’s understandable why. It’s a lot to spend on a gift for a friend, let alone for someone you haven’t met. But if you have the extra cash and you really want to make someone’s day, the option is available.
