How To Get Tickets To Radio 1's Big Weekend In Dundee

It’s one of the biggest festivals in the UK, held in a different city each year. For 2023, Radio 1 are bringing the biggest stars to Dundee. We tell you how to get Radio 1 Big Weekend tickets, including the newly introduced price.

It’s still a couple of months away, but the tickets for Big Weekend in Camperdown Park, Dundee go on sale soon. If you want to get your hands on some tickets, especially if you’re a University of Dundee student, then we’ll tell you how.

Who’s Playing At Big Weekend In Dundee?

Already, Radio 1 has announced that the 1975 and the Jonas Brothers will be headlining on the Saturday.

Fans of Rudimental, Flo and Pale Waves will be able to catch them on the Future Sounds stage.

Sunday’s lineup will be announced tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22 at 8 am. So, if you’re debating going, maybe the second day of the festival will convince you!

Big Weekend will be held on 27 and 28 May, with the gates opening at 10:30 am and headline acts beginning at 12:30 pm. Though under 15s are allowed entry, make sure you’ve got an adult with you at all times.

How To Get Radio 1 Big Weekend Tickets

90 per cent of the 35,000 tickets available will be reserved for those who live in Scotland. Pot 1 is for those who have a D1-D11 postcode and Pot 2 is for anyone else living in Scotland.

These tickets are already on sale and will close the day before the general sale when any unsold tickets will be added.

Radio 1 Big Weekend tickets for those outside of Scotland will go on sale on Friday, March 24 at 8:30 am. When the sale is live, links will be available on this page. You can only purchase 2 tickets per person for either Saturday or Sunday, if you can’t attend after all then you can re-sell through Ticketmaster’s Fan to Fan service.

Are Big Weekend Tickets Free?

No, Radio 1 Big Weekend tickets are not free.

Before 2018, the festival was free and was the biggest free festival in Europe. However, there is now a cost as well as a booking fee. Also bear in mind you may need transport or accommodation to get to Camperdown Park in Dundee.

For 2023, tickets will cost £29 plus a booking fee of £4.50. Though this definitely isn’t as good as being free, it is a lot cheaper than other festivals such as Wireless and Reading and Leeds.

If you’re planning on going, then you still have a couple of days to think about whether you want to go or not. Make sure you’re online with plenty of time if Big Weekend in Dundee is unmissable for you.
