Zoe Kramer March 6, 2023

Hosting a party at your house can be a daunting task. You want to make sure you have a good turnout, but you also want to make sure your place doesn’t get too crowded. Plus, you want to make sure your guests have the best time possible. Juggling all of these responsibilities can be quite stressful, and it can be hard to know where to begin. However, having your house set up properly is a great place to start. Here is everything you need to prepare your student house for a party.

Tidy Up

Student houses are not known for their cleanliness, but you’ll want to tidy up before you have guests over. You’ll want to make sure you have any dishes and clutter out of the way before you start setting up. This will help improve the atmosphere and give you a nice canvas to decorate. You’ll have to tidy all over again after the party’s over, but at least you’re starting off with a nice-looking house.

Set Up Snacks And A Bar In The Kitchen

Next, to prepare your student house for a party, you’ll want to stock up your kitchen with plenty of food and drinks. Take a look at the kitchen from a guest’s perspective, and try to make snacks and beverages accessible with as few steps as possible. After all, they won’t want to bother you with questions of where you keep anything or have to figure out which drinks to mix together. Simple finger foods are great — pizza, crisps, candy in a bowl, etc.

Have A Good Set Of Speakers

Making sure you can get music blasting is crucial for setting the atmosphere. You’ll want the speakers spaced out so that you get good volume in every area of the house. If you don’t have them already, you can either invest in a set of speakers or borrow them from someone else. Then, you can get a good mix of crowd favourite bangers going.

Set Up Mood Lighting

Another crucial aspect of preparing your student house for a party is lighting. No one will want to dance with bright artificial lighting going on. Dim lamps or multicolour LEDs are the perfect option to get the right atmosphere going, and they’re fairly inexpensive.

Incorporate Themes

Another way you can set up your student house for a party is to come up with a theme for each room. It’s a great way to put a creative flair on your event, and your guests will want to explore each room and mingle.
