If you haven’t had contact from someone on Instagram in a while, you may want to know if they have blocked you. However, for various reasons you may not want to reach out to them on other channels to ask if this is the case. Instagram does not notify users when they have been blocked. The app also does not provide a list of users who have blocked you. Luckily, there are a variety of easy ways to tell if someone has blocked you on the app. Here is how to see who has blocked you on Instagram.
Search For Their Account
One of the easiest ways to tell if someone has blocked you is to simply look up their account. If you remember their handle, you can open up the app and type it into the search bar. If the account comes up in your search, the person has not blocked you. If it does not come up, the person has most likely blocked you. It is not an absolute certainty, however, since they may have also changed their username.

Use A URL
Each Instagram user has a unique URL for their profile in the browser version of the app. So, another strategy for checking if someone has blocked you is to go to their profile using their URL. First, go to your own profile on the browser version of Instagram. Select your URL, then replace your username with theirs. Load up the page, and if it appears as normal, the person has not blocked you. If you get an error message, however, it is possible you have been blocked.
Look For Likes And Comments
Another strategy is to use the person’s likes and comments to check. This is particularly useful if you have forgotten the person’s username. If you can locate a post that they have liked or commented on, you can then click on their username to take you to their profile. If this works as normal, they have not blocked you. If you get a message such as ‘User Not Found’ or ‘No Posts Yet,’ they have most likely blocked you.
Try To Follow Them
Another way to see who has blocked you on Instagram is to try following the account. Locate their profile on the app or by typing their usernames and Instagram into Google. Then, when you reach their profile, hit the follow button. If you get an error message, the person has most likely blocked you.
