Mark Ruffalo, aka Bruce Banner, aka, The Hulk, has welcomed the upcoming series Ms. Marvel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Disney+ debuted the trailer.
Yesterday, Tuesday March 15, Disney+ dropped the trailer to the upcoming Marvel series Ms. Marvel which is set to hit the streaming site on June 8, 2022.
What is Ms. Marvel?
When the trailer dropped it gave fans a first look at the MCU’s newest superhero as she tries to balance high school life, her family, and her emerging super powers.
Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan – played by Marvel newcomer Iman Vellani – a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City.
Kamala is an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction writer, along with being superhero mega fan and described to have an ‘oversized imagination’ – particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson in the Marvel movies).
The release read: ‘Yet Kamala feels invisible both at home and at school – that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?’
The show is based on a series of comics, of the same name, which first made a debut in 1977, but was rebooted as the current characters in 2013.
The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.
Marvel Family Support
Marvel veteran Ruffalo was one of the first to extend a hand to 19-year-old Vellani welcoming her character Kamala aka Ms. Marvel to the MCU.
The 54-year-old Hulk actor also pointed out Marvel is ‘reflecting the world we live in’ as he shared the trailer to social media.
Ruffalo wasn’t the only one, Brie Larson – who plays Captain Marvel and Kamala’s idol – took to Twitter to support the show.
Comic And Show Differences
Of course, you can’t have any kind of book or comic to film adaption without fans pointing out any differences and Ms. Marvel is no exception.
When the trailer dropped many fans took to social media to comment on the changes to Kamala’s powers – in the recent comics Kamala is described as a polymorph meaning she can change her size and shape, and she can even shape shift.
However, in the trailer Kamala is seen to wear bracelets that give her powers similar to DC Comic’s Green Lantern – which people weren’t too happy about.
