Miley Cyrus is a musical sensation, this we know. Despite being on our screens a lot recently, her last new album was released in 2020! However, it seems the drought is over and Miley is back with new music for the new year.
Who Is Miley Cyrus?
Miley Cyrus is an American singer whose music spans rock, pop, hip hop and even country. Cyrus rose to fame on the Disney Channel portraying the blonde pop-star Hannah Montana alongside her father Billy Ray Cyrus.
After moving away from Hannah Montana, Cyrus went through many different musical phases. Most notable was her single Wrecking Ball, for which the music video saw Cyrus astride a wrecking ball whilst naked.
Throughout her career, Cyrus has attained 13 US Billboard 200 top-five albums; the most of any female artist this century.

NYE Special
Miley Cyrus hosted a New Year’s Eve Party Special on NBC and Peacock as we welcomed in 2023. This comes after she co-hosted a similar show to welcome in 2022 alongside SNL alumni Pete Davidson.
This year, Cyrus was the main host. However she brought out some absolutely stellar performers. Notably, her godmother, the country singing legend, Dolly Parton, The duo sang songs from both their discographies, with a mix of Wrecking Ball and I Will Always Love You going viral.
Another viral moment from the special came when singer-songwriter Fletcher appeared on stage. Fletcher and Cyrus duetted to Cyrus’s Midnight Sky and the two danced with each other. At one point Fletcher fell to her knees and caressed Cyrus’s leg as the singer belted out her own song.
One final surprise guest came in the form of American model and TV personality Paris Hilton. Singing her own single Stars Are Blind, Hilton appeared in a dazzling pink dress and performed alongside the host.
New Music
On the first day of 2023, Cyrus posted a short teaser on Instagram. It sees the artist walking through garden sprinklers in a bikini, as an unknown song faintly plays in the background.
The caption reads, “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY, NEW SINGLE. FLOWERS JANUARY 13.”
This is all we have so far, but the anticipation is already building.
