We’ll all be bringing in 2023 in different ways. But it’s pretty certain that music will be involved in our celebrations somehow. Whether you’ll be looking back at the year’s music or listening to some classics, our favourite streaming app is here to help. After releasing the new feature, users are asking what is Spotify New Year’s Hub and how does it work?
Whether you’ll be partying the night away, doing the countdown on your sofa with a cuppa and some chocolates, or one of the unlucky few working, you might be getting music involved with your evening. Plenty of people will be happy to say farewell to 2023, and there’s no better way to get rid of the stress of the last year than by dancing it out. It looks as if Spotify are helping out their users with just that with their New Year’s Hub feature.
What Is Spotify New Year’s Hub?
Spotify has curated some New Year-specific playlists to get your party started, however, you choose to celebrate. All in one place, users will have access to a multitude of different playlists as well as the ability to create their own.
Featured playlists include Dance Classics, New Year’s Eve Party Bangers, Garage Classics and more.
Spotify said that last year, almost 40,000 playlists were created on New Year’s Eve alone. Another 82,000 were then made from Christmas Eve to the big night itself. This year, they’ll be no stress about making sure everyone’s favourite songs are on your playlist. Spotify has done all the hard work for you.
Some of our favourite artists have even done a playlist takeover! N-Dubz, Rita Ora and Charli XCX are just three of the celebrities getting involved in the celebrations this year.
If karaoke is more your vibe, then the Spotify New Year’s Hub has got you. The feature includes some sing-along favourites to use with their karaoke feature.

How Does Spotify New Year’s Hub Work?
To use the new feature, simply head to the Spotify New Year’s Hub. Select the playlist you want to see you to 2023 and party the year away. You can even listen to more than one playlist. Or, you can create your own inspired by the ones Spotify has done for you.
Make sure you’re logged in to your account to access the feature properly. That way, if there are a couple of songs on an otherwise banging playlist you’d rather miss, you’ll still be able to skip them.
In 2021, songs such as ABBA’s Happy New Year and Mariah Carey’s Auld Lang Syne had approximately a huge 2000 per cent increase in streams on New Year’s Eve. Whether you join in with everyone else and play the classics, or you’ve got some other choices in mind, it’s safe to say that music will be guiding lots of us to the New Year.
