2022 has been an incredible year for music. Bad Bunny topped Spotify’s charts with his album Un Verano Sin Ti, whilst Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Harry Styles broke streaming records with their newest albums. Smaller artists have thrived in the post pandemic resurgence of gigs and festivals and a number of household names have returned to perform farewell shows. The bar for 2023 has certainly been set high. With new albums on the way from Maneskin and Sam Smith, this month promises to kick off the year on the right foot. Below I break down the hottest January albums to play on repeat.
Maneskin
Italian band Maneskin launched to global fame after they won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest. Known for their glam rock anthems, Maneskin’s new album ‘Rush’ is set to be released on January 20th 2023.
We are Scientists
We are scientists are back with their eighth album this January. The indie rock duo will release their album ‘Lobes’ on January 20 2023.

Loona
K-pop band Loona were set to make a comeback on January 3 this year with their EP ‘The Origin Album’. Following Loona Chuu’s sudden exit from the group, the release has been postponed, though fans are hoping to hear the new tracks early this year.
Circa Waves
On January 13, Circa Waves, an indie band from Liverpool will release their new album ‘Never Going Under’. Their most recent single, ‘Living in the Grey’ released last months, hints that this album will be reflective yet energetic.
You Me At Six
Rock band, You Me At Six will release their new album ‘Truth Decay’ on January 27. The band has described their eighth album as “quintessential you Me At Six with a twist”.
Sam Smith
Ahead of their UK and Europe tour, Sam Smith is releasing their new album ‘Gloria’ on 27 January 2023.
